Mike focuses his practice on criminal defense, DUI/OWI defense, expungements, specialized driving privileges, and criminal appeals for clients located primarily in the southeast Indiana area. He is admitted to practice law in all of Indiana’s 92 counties as well as Indiana’s Federal District Courts.
Regardless of the accusations and criminal charges a person faces, Mike firmly believes that everyone is presumed innocent unless proven guilty, and that they are entitled to a strong defense.
When the government charges a person with a crime, the constitution affords them many rights that are designed to protect their lives, liberty, and property. That’s why it’s important to have an attorney, like Mike, on your team who can help you take control of your case and assist you in effectively exercising your rights.
Mike graduated from Purdue University in 2012 with a degree in History, Communication, and Law & Society, and he was the president of two student organizations during his time there. Following his undergraduate education, Mike worked full-time at the Indiana Statehouse in the Legislative and Executive branches, focusing on policy issues impacting Indiana.
While working at the statehouse, Mike also attended the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in the evenings. While in law school, Mike focused his legal training on criminal law by participating in the law schools’ criminal defense clinic and trial team. He also gained invaluable experience on both sides of the adversarial system as a law clerk and extern for the State Public Defender’s office and the Dearborn County Prosecutor’s Office. Mike received his law degree in 2017 with graduate certificates in Criminal Law and Advocacy Skills.
Mike joined the law firm in March of 2018 and was admitted to practice law in Indiana in May of 2018. As a practicing attorney, Mike has argued countless suppression hearings, fact-finding hearings, and various other court and evidentiary hearings; and he has earned dismissals through negotiations and suppressions. In addition, Mike has developed trial experience and earning not guilty verdicts and dismissals by taking his clients’ cases to jury trials.
He has also argued before the Indiana Court of Appeals and the Indiana Supreme Court.
Mike grew up in Dearborn County, and lives in Greendale with his wife, where he gives back to his community by teaching criminal law at the Ivy Tech Lawrenceburg Campus; and serving on the board of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati and Southeast Indiana, and the Dearborn County Young Professionals.
